Safety routines

  • Getting in

The instructor sets up the ramp, the steps or the lift before the swimmer arrives, and goes at the swimmer's pace.

  • Rinse and sign-in

Every swimmer rinses before class, and an instructor signs each swimmer in and out.

  • Parents and caregivers

A parent or caregiver stays on site and watches from the deck or the bench behind the glass. A caregiver in the water is planned at the placement visit.

  • On the deck

We walk on the deck, and no one gets in the water until an instructor says so.

  • Unwell

A swimmer with a fever or a stomach bug stays home, and the class is made up.

  • Weather and closures

We text families when the pool closes, and a class lost to a closure is made up.
